The original Carcoon was designed and produced by George Page in the mid 1990’s to help combat problem areas encountered with automobile storage in his Classic Car restoration business in the United Kingdom. Today, Carcoon is the clear market leader in car storage systems in the UK.

The Carcoon is a lightweight yet extremely durable plastic “bubble” which is inflated around the vehicle to be stored. Two low voltage fans keep the Carcoon inflated and maintain a constant flow of recalculated air around the vehicle. With a running cost of aless than 5p per day, who can’t afford that kind of protection?

• The unique “active airflow” system (worldwide patents pending) comprising two air treatment units which operate continuously to provide super-atmosperic circulating airflow 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Importantly, the circulating air is taken from inside the unit itself, which effectively isolates the flow of air from the outside environment.
  
• Specially developed deoxidizing carbon filters effectively remove many airborne contaminants, therefore keeping the circulating air dry and clean. Examples of common contaminants include: Chlorine, acetone, and other ketones, alcohols, benzene, toluene, glycols, trichlorethylene, herbicides, and numerous other chemicals that can cause oxidation and corrosion of unprotected metals.
  
• Choice of specifications to suit indoor or outdoor storage requirements. The Indoor Carcoon is of single skin construction and is available in clear plastic or in Regal Red, or Royal Blue opaque nylon material for the color conscious owner. All Carcoons bear a serial number for identification and security purposes.
  
• High performance “intelligent” Battery Management System included as standard equipment on all Carcoons. This one small unit both powers the Carcoon and maintains the battery of the stored vehicle in optimum condition. The power system also provides battery backup in the event of a power outage, enabling the Carcoon to run for several days is necessary without supplied electrical power. Once power is restored the “intelligent” system automatically takes over and immediately starts to optimize the battery. The unit is designed to be permanently connected for long periods and will double the life of an average battery.
